The team is based in three locations: the power unit is developed by Audi Formula Racing GmbH at the Audi Competence Center Motorsport in Neuburg, Germany; the chassis is engineered and race operations are managed from the state-of-the-art facilities of Audi Motorsport AG in Hinwil, Switzerland; while the Audi Motorsport Technology Centre UK in Bicester, United Kingdom, provides a foothold in the heart of 'Motorsport Valley', with direct access to top F1 talent and key strategic partners.

Deine Aufgabe
- Reporting to the Head of Research & Development
- Build the Material Science Group within AudiF1 in both scope, capabilities and personnel.
- Manage the Health & Safety function for the Group
- Set the standard for advanced material research.
- Define quality standards and processes.
- Set the culture, provide both professional and pastoral care.
- Build collaborative R&D partnerships and relationships, in Academia and Industry.
- Support commercial negotiations with supply chain.
- Define, prioritise and justify capability development and capital acquisitions.
- Supervise and direct R&D component manufacture.
- Define material‑related handling and processing.
- Liaise closely with suppliers, designers and other stakeholders within the organisation.
- Liaise with Production Engineering to transfer material R&D effectively into production.
- Perform forensic analysis and report on material and component behaviour.
- Take ownership of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (CoSHH) function, liaising with the AudiF1 Health & Safety Manager.
- Support “First Off” component manufacture.
Dein Profil
- Minimum degree qualification in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in composite design in an Automotive, Aerospace, F1 or high‑level motorsports environment.
- Hands‑on skills in composite manufacturing methods such as autoclave, resin transfer moulding, resin infusion, automated fibre placement, additive manufacturing, etc.
- Professional proficiency in English for effective report communication.
- Excellent teamwork, communication & organizational skills.
- Ability to apply independent thought and supply disruptive solutions with minimal supervision when appropriate.
